Exemption From Requirement

Material not fulfilling all of Scania requirements shall not be sent to Scania.

In some exceptional situations, an Exemption From Requirement (EFR document) can be proposed (STD3868 issue 30: 5 Exemption from (technical part) Requirement ). The request form can be found on this page and must be completely filled out in English and addressed by Email to the responsible purchaser for the part.

Temporary deviations that do not affect the customer or the end product can be accepted with an Exemption From Requirement (EFR). The EFR request should provide a corrective action plan. A granted exemption is limited either to a quantity of parts or a period of time. The Exemption From Requirement shall be approved in writing (EFR document) by Scania before deliveries are allowed. The delivery of parts/components to the customer that do not fulfill all requirements, should be limited to cover the period until parts are available again that do fulfill all requirements.

Organisations are referred to CVS10 “4.3.1.3 Sonderfreigabe/Exemption from requirement” for more information. The Customer reserves the right to charge the Organisation with a fee for handling the request to allow deliveries of parts not fulfilling all requirements.

When deliveries to Scania are made of parts which are allowed with an EFR, the boxes have to be labelled with a special EFR label according the instructions. You can find the label and the instructions under “Scania Supplier Portal > Supplying to Scania > Logistics > Automotive Products > Labelling > Goods Labels > Label For EFR”.
