Assigned Parts

Basic principles for assigned parts.

An assigned part is a part which is bought by a Scania supplier from a specific supplier, an assigned supplier. The assigned supplier is chosen by Scania.

An assigned part is not delivered directly to Scania. All commercial agreements regarding the assigned part are carried out between Scania and the assigned supplier. The assigned supplier will receive an assigned part letter from Scania

When the complete part supplier wants to issue a SCR for the complete part it is mandatory that they check with the assigned part supplier in case of any influence on the assigned part first.

It is the respective supplier’s responsibility to assure the quality of the delivered parts.
